Creator of the BrodTi platform. Inventor of U.S. Patent No. 11,416,898. Visionary behind the foundational architecture of creator-economy monetization.
In 2004, long before the term "creator economy" existed, I saw a problem. While working on film and media projects, I witnessed firsthand how difficult it was for creators to obtain funding, build audiences, and generate meaningful revenue from their work. At the same time, early social networks such as MySpace, Friendster, and the newly launched Facebook were beginning to transform the internet. What became clear to me was that the platforms were generating tremendous value from the content and participation of their users, while the creators themselves received little of the economic benefit.
Driven by the belief that creators deserved a greater share of the value they generated, I began developing what would eventually become U.S. Patent No. 11,416,898. The invention focused on enabling advertising opportunities to be selected, placed within content, tracked, and monetized in ways that could directly connect creators, advertisers, and digital platforms. What began as an idea in 2004 became an 18-year journey through the patent system, requiring years of development, filings, examinations, and perseverance before the continuation patent was granted in 2022.
Today, the creator economy has grown into a global industry serving more than 200 million creators and generating over $250 billion annually. Creator-driven platforms and advertising ecosystems built around user-generated content now account for well over $100 billion in annual revenue. Looking back, it is deeply rewarding to see concepts envisioned decades ago become part of the foundation of how creators monetize content across the digital world.
"It represents not only a patent, but a belief that creators deserve opportunities to participate in the value they help create."
The next generation of innovation is only beginning.
Throughout my career, I have pursued innovation in many forms—from entrepreneurial ventures and product development to film, music, and technology. Yet the pursuit of this invention remains one of the most meaningful accomplishments of my life.
Today, I continue to defend, advance, and expand upon that vision. With more than 76 patents issued or pending, I remain committed to developing new technologies, supporting innovation, and helping shape the future of digital media, advertising, and creator monetization. The journey that began in 2004 is far from over, and I believe the next generation of innovation is only beginning.
